Hiiii! I'm Katie (or KT, or KO, or KTO) owner and calligrapher at Knockout Lettering. Since I can remember, I've been doodling on the back of notebooks, perfecting my signature, and for a short time, tried to teach myself to write with my left hand. I even took home the championship in the 3rd grade handwriting contest. What can I say? I've been *drawn* to letters all my life.

 

My favorite part about lettering is that it has allowed me to be part of so many special celebrations in my clients' and friends' lives. In 2014, I addressed the invitations and made few signs for my sister's wedding. Over the next few years, more and more friends and family asked me to make signage for their events. With their support and encouragement (and even naming skills - thanks to my BFFs Lauren and James!), Knockout Lettering became an official side hustle in 2018. In 2021, I shifted focus during Covid and finally turned Knockout into a part-time gig. As of summer 2024, I am officially shooting my shot and running Knockout full-time!!!

Since starting up, I've been part of more than 70 weddings (and finally got to do my own in November 2022 - ask me about what I made!) and have worked with hundreds of clients in the Philadelphia region and beyond on custom gifts and signage. I looooove a good seating chart, and am always up for lettering on something new.

 

I'm a big fan of all things Philly (as you'll see in lots of my work), and live here with my new husband, Matt (who doubles as Knockout's carpenter/tech support/photographer/cheerleader), and our 12 year old fluff ball pup, Nucky. Other favorite hobbies include: making and devouring hot sauce, showing off my plants, pickling veggies, and being Auntie K to my 6 nieces and nephews.
